Forest Schools for Schools

TAKING THE CURRICULUM INTO THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Bridging the gap between the classroom and the natural world

At Little Acorns Forest Schools Ltd, we’ve been delivering high-quality outdoor learning since 2014, offering schools a first-class service that brings education to life in the woods. We challenge schools to give us something we can’t teach outdoors—and we haven’t been beaten yet!

Who We Work With

We work with a wide range of schools to deliver long-term Forest School programmes that are fully embedded into the curriculum. Our sessions support learners of all ages and abilities, including:

  • Early Years – A core part of our work since the beginning, nurturing curiosity and confidence through play.

  • Primary – Tailored programmes that support well-being, social development, and physical skills linked to classroom learning.

  • Secondary – Supporting students who may struggle in traditional settings, offering alternative pathways to engagement and growth.

  • Home Education Group (Ages 5–18) – Our alternative provision for home-educated learners runs one day a week for three hours, offering a supportive, nature-based environment where children and young people can thrive outside of mainstream education.

 What we offer

All sessions are planned in consultation with schools to ensure they meet the needs of each group. We enrich the curriculum with hands-on, nature-based learning—like our popular Stone Age experience, where learners build shelters, light fires, and cook with foraged ingredients.

Curriculum Integration

Our outdoor sessions bring classroom topics to life, deepening understanding and sparking curiosity. Whether it’s science, history, or PSHE, we work closely with teachers to align our content with learning goals.

How We Deliver

Led by qualified, experienced practitioners, our programmes are:

  • Carefully planned and risk-assessed

  • Observed and evaluated for impact

  • Adapted to meet the needs of all learners

Feedback and Evaluation

We provide detailed feedback after each session and can offer individual learner observations on request to support school-based assessments and development plans.

Inset Training for Staff

We also offer Inset and twilight training sessions for school staff—perfect for teams looking to explore outdoor learning or deepen their understanding of Forest School. These sessions are bespoke and can focus on curriculum links, confidence-building, or practical skills.
